Meet Cara
My professional background is in fundraising strategy and event execution, including peer-to-peer endurance events. Chasing Six combines what I’ve learned through my career with my passionate for running, travel, and being a part of a community of like-minded people. I’m mostly a mid-pack runner, and races are done for fun. Through running, I find excitement, peace, joy, and friends.
I am an Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Finisher. I completed Berlin in 2021, Boston in 2022, London and Chicago in 2023), and Tokyo and New York City in 2024.
My first 10K was the Walt Disney World 10K in 2015. I had literally never run an entire mile without walking until this race (like, during the race). My first marathon was the Marine Corps Marathon in 2016 – deeply unprepared and one of the hottest races in recent memory, I vowed never again…but I’m now part of MCM Runners Club and have run the MCM50K twice!
After my first marathon I started interval running (the Galloway Method) and became more disciplined in training. In 2022, I hired a coach (shout out to Mercuria Running, especially Coach Keri-Ann), and began setting huge PRs and learning how to run smarter (Fuel! Glutes!). I’ve completed 2 ultramarathons, 18 marathons, and more than 45 half marathons, plus several Dopey and Goofy Challenges.
My goal with Chasing Six is to provide support to runners at all levels and abilities. If it’s your first race and you’re overwhelmed, or your tenth marathon and you don’t have time or capacity to sift through information - Chasing Six is here for you!
